Determine Your Skin Type

What type of skin do you have?

Is it combination,dry,oily,normal or sensitive?

Before you buy any skin related product you need to check what type of skin you have.

To determine your skin type wash your face really well a night before you sleep and do not apply any thing.

After you wake up touch your T zone (forehead, nose, chin) and area around your cheeks.

Check if its:

1. OILY:

If your T zone (forehead, nose and chin) and area around your cheeks feels greasy and shiny and you want to wash your wash again and again during the day then you have oily skin.

  • Using oil based makeup products
  • Hormones
  • Humid climate
  • Over drying your skin which forces it to produce more oil.

How to take care:

  • Stop using oil based product.
  • Always go for CTM (cleaning, toning and moisturizing) rule.
  • Exfoliate 2-3 times a week
  • Use an Astringent Every Other Day
  • Use a light moisturizer (It might seem counter intuitive, but many products formulated to treat oily skin strip it off its natural oils which it needs for moisture and protection)

The good news is, studies show that the moisture from oily skin might help prevent wrinkles!

2. Combination:

If your T zone (forehead, nose and chin) is greasy and area around your cheeks is dry then you have combination skin.Combination skin can be tricky to treat since you have to address two different issues.

Its time to ditch your loofah and try Exfoliating bath gloves

If You are using products to treat the oily areas, you could wind up drying out the dry areas and vice versa.

How to take care: You need to balance the skin texture, for that you need to use different products for different issue areas.

  • Don’t use alcohol based product which are too drying.
  • Use mild toner
  • Use light moisturizer
  • Exfoliate especially around your T zone.

If your skin feels itchy, tight or rough especially after washing your face and you feel like someone is stretching your skin then you have dry skin.
